Baz Luhrmann has done it - he has eclipsed Moulin Rouge to ensure his latest offering Australia becomes his biggest movie yet. Thanks to the heavy traffic throughout the holiday period, Australia went past Moulin Rouge's Australian box office record of $27.7 million to become the most successful film of all time in his home country. With over $28.8 million grossed so far, the film is on track to pass the $30 million milestone this week. Not bad considering the absolute she... Find out more... | 1 Comments |

I saw Slumdog Millionaire recently and after seeing all of the hype and rave reviews wasn't sure what to expect. Most of the time you hear all of these things and then watch the film and think otherwise but with Danny Boyle's latest, you're not left disappointed. I found the film to be a fascinating insight into another world - a world I'd never really seen or heard that much about. Capturing the lives of two brothers on the run as they grow up in various pockets of India, Slumdog Mil... Find out more... | 1 Comments |

Jim Carrey has sprinted to the top of the Aussie box office mountain just like he did a few weeks ago in the U.S. It seems the large crowds flowing into the cinemas were after a laugh and that's what they've got in Yes Man with Carrey back doing what he does best - making people laugh. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button grabbed second spot with the combination of Brad Pitt and our very own Cate Blanchett proving almost irresistible. Adam Sandler's first Disney film, Bedtime Stories t... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

The top five films of last weekend finished in exactly the same spot over the weekend at the U.S box office with Owen Wilson/Jennifer Aniston's dog drama Marley & Me holding onto the top spot with an estimated $24.1 million to smash through the $100 million mark. Bedtime Stories took an estimated $20.3 million to maintain second spot while Brad Pitt's The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button took $18.4 million and held onto third spot. Super dog Bolt is coming to the rescue, voiced by John Travolta, Bolt stars in a television show alongside his 'owner' and co-star Penny, played by the insanely popular teen star Miley Cyrus (of Hannah Montana fame) where adventure, danger and super powers rule the day. When Bolt is suddenly and accidentally shipped off to New York city, he faces the biggest challenge he's ever faced in his battle to return home to Hollywood. This film is a winner and will go gang busters – especiall... Find out more... | 2 Comments |

Mr Bond himself returns this weekend with the release of his latest offering Defiance, also featuring Live Schreiber. The story follows 3 Jewish brothers escape from Nazi-occupied Poland into the Belarussian forest, where they join Russian resistance fighters and endeavour to build a village in order to protect themselves and others in danger. Expect this to be deep and haunting – from what I’ve seen it looks really good and shows Craig can step outside the 007 frame and explore other... Find out more... | 1 Comments |

Well here we are at the end of 2008 and I thought it’d be good idea to let you know the top 5 grossing films of the year. It’d be no surprise to realise that The Dark Knight took out top spot with $45.7 million, completely smashing any other movie this year. It’s amazing to think that this beat 2nd spot by an astonishing $14.3 million! Mamma Mia came in second with $31.4 million followed by the latest in the Indy franchise with $29.3 million. 1.The Dark Knight – It’s rare that a film exceeds all expectations, particularly when they are HUGE, and this film did exactly that. Well written, expertly shot and brilliantly cast, this is without equal my favourite film of this year. 2.Slumdog Millionaire – I love it when a film comes from left of centre and really demands attention. Slumdog was at heart a pretty simple story, yet you can’t help but want the protagonist to win in the end. Written with a lot of heart and brilliantly... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

It looks like it may become a Fox tradition to have a great chick flick for the girls (and some guys…I know you love t!) in January. Last year we had 27 Dresses and now this year we have Bride Wars. Bride Wars is a comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. They play best friends who get engaged at the same time and who also book the same venue (on different dates) for their weddings. They become rivals when it turns out that they have in fact been double booked and now one of them must... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

The annual boxing day box office battle is not far away with Adam Sandler's 'Bedtime Stories', Keanu Reeve's 'The Day The Earth Stood Still', Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett's 'The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button' plus Frost Nixon and Vicky Cristina Barcelona all tussling for the trophy. Judging by ticket sales so far, I reckon Benjamin Button will win the battle. I honestly thought Bedtime Stories would come up with the goods with Sandler in a kids comedy movie during the summer holiday... Find out more... | 1 Comments |

I have always been a star wars fan. Being a child and seeing Return of the Jedi on the big screen as one of my first movie experiences was overwhelming. That being said, with the release of the prequel trilogy, starting nearly a decade ago, I became addicted to trailer watching. I would spend hours on the net trolling through various fan sites trying to find a link to a poorly recorded version of a new trailer or leaked footage. Who doesn’t love a really cute dog, and one who has a hugely successful show! Like BOLT! He is so adorable; you’ll want to take him home with you after you’ve seen the movie. I got to see this pic in 3D and its super sharp. From the get go, Bolt is a unique little puppy and soon finds himself as the star of a successful show, which sees him with super powers, like a devastating bark! Hello Twilighters, Well I wasn’t far off with my opening week guess of $8 Mill, it came in just shy. So far it’s sitting pretty on $10.7 mill. Not too shabby, and in the US is looking to be the biggest grossing Vampire film of all time, not to mention that it’s on track to be the biggest grossing film of any female director! So, filming for New moon begins in about 10-12 weeks, the slated release date at this stage is Nov 20 2009, just in time for Christmas, and what a present. ... Find out more... | 19 Comments |

Katherine Heigl cements her position as Hollywoods latest romantic comedy darling in the upcoming The Ugly Truth. Judging by the trailer that was recently released, we can expect some cheesy Hollywood movie moments but it all looks like a hell of a lot of fun, and let's be honest who doesn't like a bit of a rom com with beautiful people like Heigl and Gerard Butler. I can only dream. It looks like we can get ready for some witty banter between these two characters and who knows what ... Find out more... | 0 Comments |
