They're back!!! Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria return as Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is released in cinemas December 11 (QLD/NT/SA) or December 19 (NSW/WA/VIC/ACT). The second instalment sees the action take place in Africa where all 4 characters go through a personality crisis but the stand-out character for me is King Julien (Sacha Baron-Cohen). The man is a genius and again the one liners (unusually clean) are spot on, I found myself laughing out loud, especially the scene where th... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

| Was there tension on the set of Four Holidays? |

| Posted on Thursday, 4 December 2008 by Ben |
If you've heard much about Four Holidays, there was word there may have been tension between stars Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. According to Witherspoon herself though, there was nothing of the sort. Talking to ArtistDirect, she had this to say: "Vince and I got along great. We're very good friends, and we were very much partners on this movie. We decided to produce it together. We worked on the script together. We worked on it for four months for five or six hours a day before... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

| Jim Carrey is on fire in Yes Man |

I'm a huge fan of Jim Carrey, he's a very funny guy and the hilarious faces and maniac characters he has the ability to get himself into, make him one of my favourites when it comes to comedy. Think Dumb & Dumber, Ace Ventura + Me, Myself & Irene. In his latest film, Yes Man, released in cinemas January 1st, 2009, Carrey plays Carl Allen who signs himself up for a self-help program where the key objective is becoming a "yes" person, saying yes to literally everything. What follows is ... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

| STAR TREK ENGAGE |

I have just seen 4 scenes from the new JJ Abrams Star Trek film. WOW. Fans will not be disappointed. Can I say it has (so far) everything you come to expect, action, humour, a kick ass crew, the freakin’ Enterprise and Leonard Nimoy! I mean, c’mon. The effects look out standing. I would say it looks more like an action film set in space, and is perfectly cast, with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, John Cho, and of course Eric Bana as the bad guy! It would seem JJ is keeping the plot line a littl... Find out more... | 1 Comments |

Bedtime Stories sees Adam Sandler as Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handyman telling magical stories to both his niece and nephew before they go to sleep. Unfortunately whatever they dream up, comes to life and Sandler is forced to survive. Adding a dash of his own thoughts to these doesn't seem to help as the unexpected possibilities the kids create throw his life into chaos. In his first Disney movie, Sandler stars alongside Keri Russell, Courteney Cox, our very own Guy Pearce and Russel... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

We've been given a sneak peak at Star Trek this morning and it looks sensational. Director J.J. Abrams has done a great job and the film which is released on May 7, 2009 looks set to introduce a whole new legion of fans as well as tease the curiousity of the die-hard Trekkies. The crew includes Chris Pine as Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy, John Cho as Sulu and Zoe Saldana as Uhura. Don't forget our very own Eric Ba... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

| What are the best Christmas films? |

What are the best films to watch to get into the festive spirit? I always find at this time of year it's fun to watch a few Christmas movies to really get into the swing of things. This year my girlfriend and I have decided to watch 12 to go along with the 12 days of Christmas theme but had a hard time putting together the list. There are obviously plenty to choose from but it was a matter of quality over quantity. We went with Elf, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (I'm a sucker ... Find out more... | 2 Comments |

Having not seen a huge amount of Danny Boyle's work, I wasn't sure I was going to get into Slumdog Millionaire. I must admit though that the raw intensity he is able to create on screen really drew me in. In the days of being served up the same thing a hundred different ways, this really is something unique. It has a bit of everything from comedy to romance and drama - it all works in delivering the story of Jamal who becomes a contestant on the Hindi version of Who Wants to Be A Mil... | Australia leads the way at box office |

Australia has debuted at number one at the Australian box office taking an estimated $6.3 million over the weekend. Quantum Of Solace slipped to second place with $4.2 million but with an impressive $18.7 million overall. Rob Schneider's latest offering Big Stan landed in third spot with Quarantine and Sex Drive rounding out the top five. While some will argue this was a disappointing debut for the hugely anticipated big budget film, we have to remember it doesn't have an established ... Find out more... | 5 Comments |

With the release of Baz Luhrmann's epic Australia, I thought it was time to recap and see what people thought of the big budget film starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Here we go: "Australia tries to be a sprawling, romantic epic. Instead, it's a melodramatic exercise in tedium" - Claudia Puig (USA Today) "What a gorgeous film, what strong performances, what exhilarating images and - yes, what sweeping romantic melodrama" - Roger Ebert (Chicago Sun-Times) T... Four Christmases (re-titled Four Holidays here in Australia) won the US Thanksgiving weekend box office battle, taking an estimated $31.7 million. The film, starring Vince Vaughn and Reece Witherspoon, portrays a couple seeking to escape the usual Christmas family routine only to have their flight to paradise delayed and their worst nightmare/s come true - having to spend quality time with their families. Bolt grabbed second spot taking an estimated $26.6 million and last weekend's to... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

All the key cast of Twilight have signed on for the sequel New Moon, which is due to start shooting next March, ready for release in 2010. That's according to USA Today and MTV, although Entertainment Weekly casts doubts on whether Taylor Lautner (pictured) will return as werewolf Jacob, considering the 16-year-old is shorter and more boyish-looking than the way Stephenie Meyer described the character. ''We are definitely talking and thinking about it right now,'' Erik Feig... Find out more... | 0 Comments | buy tickets |

| Lots of Aussies love Baz's Australia; Yanks not so much |

At the risk of hastily jumping to conclusions, I think it's fair to say a sizable number of Aussies are enjoying Baz Luhrmann's Australia, while Yank audiences are less enamoured. The historical drama/romance rang up nearly $1.4 million here on Wednesday and about $1.2 million yesterday: a strong but not stellar start for the much-hyped movie. Especially considering the $200 million epic seems to appeal chiefly to women aged 30 plus and middle-aged folk, who are not inclin... Find out more... | 6 Comments | buy tickets |

Slumdog Millionaire offers no stars or glitz, just an inspiring, rags-to-riches story of an illiterate orphan teenager from the slums of Mumbai. Danny Boyle's movie is being touted as a dark-horse favourite for the best picture Oscar, alongside much higher-profile contenders such as The Dark Knight, the Brad Pitt/Cate Blanchett starrer The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the Meryl Streep drama Doubt and Kate Winslet/Leonardo DiCaprio's Revolutionary Road. | Jen and Owen: laughs and tears in Marley and Me |

When the producers of Marley and Me sent Jennifer Aniston a copy of the book on which it's based, she didn't want to read it. She knew it was about a couple and their neurotic pooch, and, like many actors, didn't fancy playing second fiddle to an animal. Then she read John Grogan's book, which reduced her to tears and she quickly realized it isn't a silly story about the world's worst dog. Starring Aniston and Owen Wilson, the comedy/drama follows the couple over... Find out more... | 0 Comments |
