During the 1960s and ‘70s, a serial killer, known only as “the Zodiac”, has the San Francisco bay area in a clutch of terror, killing innocent people uncontrollably and taunting police and journalists with letters, clues and cryptograms. Several jurisdictions become involved in the sensational mystery, but the culprit continues to evade the authorities. Two journalists and two police officers become obsessively involved in the case. Highly intelligent editorial cartoonist, Robert Graysmith (Gyllenhaal), and self-destructive ace reporter, Paul Avery (Robert Downey Jr) are among the primary recipients of the killer’s many messages to their newspaper, the San Francisco Chronicle. The two begin to gather as much information about the case as possible. Meanwhile, skilful homicide detective, David Toschi (Mark Ruffalo) and his partner, Bill Armstrong (Anthony Edwards), are equally consumed by the harrowing circumstances as they delve deeper into the investigation. The four men will become dangerously immersed in the puzzling case, which will either build or destroy their careers in the process. Cinebuzz Member Comments on Zodiac

Yay this movie rules though the killer doesn't
Bartman on 6/08/2007 at 9:11:28 PM This was a very well written, acted, and directed movie. My disappointment was that I was expecting it to be a thriller, and I quickly realized it wasn't. More of a "Midsummer Murders" pace. The first half of the movie is very slow, but necessary, and it does pick up in the second half. >spoiler< I worry that John Carroll Lynch is sometimes type-cast after such films as Gothika. All things considered, worth watching. tellytabby on 20/07/2007 at 3:37:55 PM Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I didn't realise how long it was until it had finished. Great film! Cammic on 29/06/2007 at 10:55:06 PM Zodiac - A very good movie, although it was long overall the acting was very real. A movie I would not recommend is Oceans 13, hyped up and a useless storyline! Amronp on 28/06/2007 at 5:30:44 PM Daanngg... that was such a swell movie... one of the best of the year... i want to touch Jake... the movie was so progressive, i love the change over time, at first its a murder mystery, then a thriller then a drama about writing a book.. so good... Daniel on 12/06/2007 at 6:39:59 PM The zodiac rulessssssssss! Dominoze on 12/06/2007 at 6:08:13 PM mad movie...lubd it!!!!!! macey on 12/06/2007 at 2:06:44 PM An interestingly plotted and narrated movie with some brilliant directorial touches of David Fincher. However, it is a bit hard to appreciate this movie in terms of originality as it resembles a South Korean murder mystery movie called 'Memories of Murder' (2004). cinema-coast on 12/06/2007 at 2:06:46 AM TERRIFIC!!! I had the highest of expectations...since fight club is my fav film and seven and the game were sooo damn good! I GAVE IT 4.5 STARS OUT OF 5. The CGI and revolutionary technology Fincher used was astounding. a truly great film. bloody_fervour on 11/06/2007 at 3:09:56 PM Excellent.Gyllenhaal is excellent as Graysmith, and it was all so well done. *clar* on 9/06/2007 at 11:23:26 PM
