HP5 was okay but I've seen better. I only went to see it coz I saw the others and I wanted to see how different it was to the book.

I found this movie to be a bit of a disarster. there were so many parts that should have been in the movie but wernt the whole story line has gone and i think they should of done more on the actual book instead of making out to what they think it should of been. this is one very upset hp fan. Good movie - up to usual standard. Great SFX, Imelda Staunton (Umbridge) and Helena Bonham-Carter (LeStrange) are great casting choices. These films are fast becoming a who's who of British actors. I enjoyed this film immensely; I strongly think that this is the best film produced of the Harry Potter series. I also believe that the movies will only continue to spiral upwards (due to the actors – Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint aging and becoming more mature allowing them the create a much better movie in general)!!! I've learnt to accept the fact that they won't always get it exact from the book, so when I go to see these movies, I don't have any high expectations, which is why I enjoy them. I honestly can't understand why these movies are so popular. The acting in these Potter movies is so bad it's painful to watch. You couldn't pay me to endure another Harry Potter movie. This movie is marketed to children, and yet it gets an M rating yet parents still insist on taking 5 year olds to see it. How very disappointing! What could have been a super movie was treated like a Reader's Digest version of a great book. It would have been finacially smart to break the book in 2 movies instead and contribute further to the Pottermania!

This movie is darker and lacks the humour of the other movies, but it has to reflect the darker tones in the books.There are alot of disjointed scenes where we barely touch on anyone who isn't Harry (ahem, tonks), but there is so much to get through within 2.5hrs that they don't have much of a choice. Yes some of the story line was left out but it had to be done and I wouldn't have said that it was any of the crucial parts. They were definately all in there. Definately going to see it again. I saw it todaya.My advice is to see the movie first than read the book. I loved it .I didn't want it to end. The movie didnt feel like it went for 2hours and 15mins because I was enjoying it so much. I was a bit scared to be completely honost I had my eyes closed for parts of it !! I saw it at a IMAX theartre two so it was twice as scary. Some people might not enjoy it I know my Dad didn't. He thinks they have run out of ideas for Harry Potter. He reckons that the other 4 were better. But thats just my Dad's opinion. Any Harry Potter Fan would love it. I want to see it again. anyhoo i betta stop yappering on about it !!!

i have to agree with headmistress_Granger, reading the book b4 the movie was a BIG mistake. The book was so wonderful and full of such great significant and imaginitive detail, a lot which the film unfortunatly didnt show. No quidditch, no dobby, not enough of hogsmeade and they made it out to be Cho who dobs the DA in, instead of her friend which i didnt like at all lol. After reading the book you realise they leave out quite a great deal of details and the movie goes by very quickly. but if you havent read the book in a while or havent at all, then i'm sure you'll love the movie, but unfortunatly because i read it (and just in the last few days too) it was only ok for me as i was getting mad at everything they left out! lol but i hope you guys enjoy it!

The movie was great. The special effects were EXCELLENT!!! It was quite short compared to the other movies. You might need to see it twice to catch the subtle bits in it.

If your daft enough to read the book just before seeing the movie you WILL be disappointed. You may even hate the movie. If you planned ahead and haven't read the book for a good year, you might like it. It's not going to win any awards, but its definitely a very good movie for what it is. Its gotten darker and i cant for the life of me figure out why parents would bring their five year olds to see it, but i loved it. The scene in the ministry was magnificent. Luna was awesome and i loved Umbridge, she did a stunning job. Certainly not as good as it could have been but worth the money (unless you go during the day and can't hear half the movie coz of all the kids)Bloody Brilliant! The Film was okay but it didn't fill the expectation that i had of the film. I would have to say die hard fans would feel the same as i.It was lacking so much that the book had to offer.The words order of the pheonix was only mentioned twice.Overall the film was great,beacause its HARRY POTTER AND I LIKE ALOT LOVE HIM!!! It was really bad. I mean why can't they make it 3 hrs. I mean the book is good but I prefer movies but the problem is movies are getting worse every year. I saw it last night and i plan on seeing it again. i can't decide whether i loved it or not. The book is obviously more detailed and more suspensful. If you hadnt of read the book, you wouldnt of understood it very much at all, because i went with my mum, and had to explain just about everything to her. Should have gone for longer so it could have covered more stuff. About 3/5 from me

They should have chosen a better screen writer for it. They even missed out on a very important anti-climax of the book. A huge disapointment. It was like they were rushing through the whole plot just to get to the end. They can do alot better than that. You can't just cater for the people who read the book, but you need to cater for the people who don't read the book. The movie should have been alot longer. It was still a very enjoyable movie and i will definately purchase the DVD when it is released, however it was just lacking in something. the fight scene wasnt as intense as it was in the previous movies and Voldmort wasnt as scary. just a little disappointed :( but still very enjoyable. i saw it today, the first session in gold class. i must admit i was disappointed. The movie is all talk i found and the last 20 mins is the best of the movie and even that falls short. they hyped it too much and it failed cos all its doing is setting up the sixth and seventh film. I saw it from 1pm- 4pm, such a long movie, but it was fantastic. It was funny how when the theme song played everyone said 'horray', and cheered Harry on when he got his kiss from Cho. But the most funniest was at the end of the movie when everyone clapped one guy in the back row went 'Oh, no!' We all turned to him, "Now we have to wait another year!" Saw it today.I dont know what to say about it. It had its charm and it had its faults. After watching the trailer and nearly dying of excitement, it was a bit like the matrix 2 and 3 where all the best bits were in that to make us see it. A LOT better than POA and I would say on par with GOF. I must say they got through most of the facts without a lot of exposition though in a couple of spots the poetic licence was clear. Luna was great and I couldn't help but laugh at Umbridge's 'hem, hem'. The best part for me was the return of all the characters from 1,2,3 and 4, it was like family coming home; the worst, all the places in the book that made your stomach and heart constrict with anticipation, awe and angst, didn't quite get pulled off in the film.3 stars from me. sonofgloin on 11/07/2007 at 3:52:21 PM

I recommend everyone to get tickets early because alot of people have been pre booking tickets, and a couple of the sessions at where I work look like they are close to selling out.

I saw HP5 this morning at an advanced screening and it was amazing - especially the visual effects in the Ministry of Magic. It's everything it was cracked up to be, although I think it may be confusing for some who haven't read the book. Also, it's pretty dark (I know you're all probably sick of hearing this), so consider not taking young kids. Peoples! STOP FREAKING OUT! i did the same thing when i saw i wasnt able to buy my tickets for Glendale!...They show up they are coming on one by one i assume as the person running it loads it into the system for each cinema =) its all good. Do what i did and keep hitting refresh i was since 6am this morning =p i got my tickets though. The two seats i wanted. =)

I am a very impateient person!!!!! I want to see it now!!!! The books are cool but I wish the movies were longer so they can fit the details but then it would take so long till there released. It sucks. This movie is going to be wicked. one problem though....Katie Leung [aka Cho Chang] I am not happy with this film. Harry and Cho kiss - lip to lip. NOT HAPPY. Hmmm i have mixed feelings on this whole topic. I am one of those readers that read the books at the age of 8 and have grown up 10 years later along side Harry. For me the movies arent a great sucess when compared to the books however for those who havent read the books im sure they are a million times better for you. Im sure ill sit through the entire movie pointing out whats wrong or whats missing. Either way ill be there first session like normal. Ill be there waiting first in line to see it. Personally im more excited about the release of the next book in 65days (21 July 07). However for all those who havent read the Order of the Phoenix ... get ready for a great story cause it just gets better and better and this one should be awesome.That said.
